01Initial Situation
Electronic diagnosis and board repair were performed on ELİSAMED's BIOBASE BKC-TL6C centrifuge used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Checks revealed multiple faults affecting both the power and control stages of the electronic circuit driving the three-phase PMSM motor.
The power-stage IGBT was faulty and the control-section microprocessor had failed. Because the microprocessor carried the device-specific operating software, replacement could not be treated solely as a hardware operation; preserving the software was an integral part of the repair.
02Applied Solution
Before microprocessor replacement, the machine's software was successfully copied from the faulty chip. It was transferred to the new microprocessor, completing replacement while preserving the same functions.
- Copying software from the faulty microprocessor to the new chip
- Replacement of the faulty power-stage IGBT
- Repair of damaged circuit tracks
The faulty IGBT was replaced and damaged circuit tracks repaired. These interventions restored power transmission and control connections in the motor drive circuit.

03Technical Assessment
An IGBT is a power semiconductor that switches motor current in a drive's power stage; the microprocessor controls this switching and the device's operating logic. Since both stages were affected here, the repair covered power and control together.
Hardware repair and software transfer were completed within the same scope. Copying the software before replacing the microprocessor preserved the device-specific operating program; the motor drive board was repaired rather than replaced.

| Section | Finding | Intervention |
|---|---|---|
| Power stage | Faulty IGBT | Replaced with a new component |
| Control stage | Failed microprocessor | Software copied and transferred to the new chip |
| Board | Damaged circuit tracks | Repaired |
04Implementation Result
After microprocessor, IGBT and circuit track repairs, the BIOBASE BKC-TL6C centrifuge was operational again. It was delivered to ELİSAMED for use in the pharmaceutical production facility.
The motor drive board was restored without replacement, and device-specific software was preserved on the new microprocessor. The gallery includes repair and testing stages alongside an overall view of the device.
05Project Outcomes
“The centrifuge's motor drive board was repaired without replacement, and its software was transferred to the new microprocessor. Having the machine operational again was important to us.”
