01Initial Situation
The ABB robot on BMES Ayakkabı's production line prepared shoe soles by trimming protrusions before bonding, then sprayed a chemical to improve bond strength. A robot fault required electronic repair of the system.
Having one robot perform both operations made its production role critical. A stoppage affected both sole preparation and chemical application. Correctly identifying the fault and recommissioning the robot in its existing operating arrangement were therefore priorities.
02Applied Solution
Diagnosis identified the electronic board in the robot cabinet as the source of the problem. The faulty board was removed, examined at circuit level and subjected to the necessary electronic repairs.
Repairing the existing board restored its function in the robot control cabinet. Work targeted the faulty electronic unit while preserving the robot's existing operating arrangement; the repaired board was returned to the system.

03Technical Assessment
Motion and application tasks in industrial robot systems depend on correctly functioning electronics in the robot cabinet. Here, the fault was traced to an electronic board in that cabinet, so intervention focused on board-level repair.
Circuit-level repair of the existing board preserved the robot's current operating arrangement. Following repair, the robot's production movements and application tasks were restored.
04Return to Operation
After board repair, automatic sole trimming and chemical spraying resumed. Diagnosis, board repair and restoration of robot operation were completed within three days.
The ABB robot was delivered to the customer ready for production use. The video shows the robot processing a sole at the trimming station; the gallery also includes an overall operating view of the robot cell.

05Project Outcomes
“When the robot stopped, sole preparation was disrupted too. Repairing the cabinet board and restarting the robot within three days helped us return to production sooner.”
