Pipe Clamp Lining Insertion Machine Automation

01Initial Situation

Şafak Makine needed complete automation for its rubber lining insertion machine for pipe mounting clamps. Key requirements included handling different clamp types and generating settings for the selected dimension during product changes.

Since lining length varies with clamp size, correct settings for each product were important. Processing several clamps in the same cycle also required joint management of servo movements and the lining sequence.

02Applied Solution

Our team delivered all automation, including control software, the motion system, HMI screens and production algorithms. When the operator selects a clamp size on the HMI, the system automatically determines the required lining length and prepares production settings for the selected product.

The automation system determines lining length, controls servo movements and manages the lining sequence. The machine can line eight clamps within the same cycle.

03Technical Assessment

The system accommodates different clamp dimensions and generates product changeover settings for the selected size. A size change therefore becomes an HMI selection rather than a series of manual adjustments.

At the customer's additional request, a lightweight, portable four-button wireless remote was manufactured and integrated. Operators can adjust settings and perform necessary jog movements away from the HMI, simplifying field use and intervention.
