01Initial Situation
A fault in HAVAK's filter cutting and folding line for ventilation filter production took the machine out of service. The line carried out cutting and folding within a single production flow.
With cutting and folding in one production flow, a fault anywhere on the line could stop the entire process. The issue therefore needed to be found quickly and the line restarted promptly.
02Applied Solution
The machine's condition was inspected on site to establish the fault source. Assessing the cutting and folding operating sequence identified the issue preventing line operation.
- On-site inspection of the machine's existing condition
- Assessment of the cutting and folding operating sequence
- Targeted repair and restoration of the control arrangement
The necessary repairs were applied to the identified fault, restoring the machine's control and operating arrangement. Intervention focused on recovering the existing system's function.

03Technical Assessment
For machines carrying out interdependent steps such as cutting and folding on one line, diagnosis generally considers the system's operating sequence rather than a single component. Here, the fault was identified by evaluating the cutting and folding sequences together.
Following repair, cutting and folding functions were checked together rather than separately. This verified that the line's core production movements were working in combination again.
04Return to Operation
Diagnosis, repair and operational checks were completed within two hours. The filter cutting and folding line was ready for production again the same day and delivered operational to HAVAK.
The rapid intervention prevented prolonged production line downtime and restored reliable machine operation.
05Project Outcomes
“Production was completely disrupted when the cutting and folding line stopped. Finding and repairing the fault within two hours let us restart the same day.”
